Introducing the exquisite Afghani Bakshaish Willow rug, a true masterpiece of tribal design. This rug originates from Afghanistan, specifically the Ghazni Province in the southeast region, known for its mountainous terrain that yields the finest quality wool. Crafted by skilled ethnic Turkmen weavers, often from the Esari Subtribe, this rug showcases their exceptional craftsmanship.

Made from all-natural wool sourced from Ghazni sheep, the yarn is carefully hand carted and spun in Herat, on the western side of Afghanistan. The wool is then woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, reflecting the cottage industry production style. This rug follows an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, providing both visual appeal and structural durability.

With a vibrant navy background and a striking rust border, this tribal rug captivates the eye. The main color of this rug is a beautiful shade of blue, obtained from natural indigo dye stuffs. Utilizing the leaves of the indigo plant, the dyeing process dates back thousands of years and has been celebrated for its ability to produce rich, vibrant blue hues.

Measuring 8' 9" x 12' 1", this new rug boasts a wool pile on a cotton warp and weft, creating a harmonious blend of two natural fibers. The double wefted heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique ensures the utmost durability, making this handwoven carpet resilient and long-lasting.

In terms of craftsmanship, this rug features a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, resulting in an astounding 1,203,265 individually hand-tied knots. This level of intricacy and attention to detail speaks volumes about the expertise and dedication of the weavers who created this masterpiece.

Immerse your space in the rich cultural heritage of Afghanistan with this striking Afghani Bakshaish Willow rug. Its tribal design, vibrant colors derived from natural dyes, and impeccable craftsmanship make it a true collector's gem.
