Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan and boasting the captivating design of Bakshaish Willow. Embracing a tribal style, this rug features a navy background that beautifully contrasts with a rust border. The main color of this piece is a stunning blue, elevating its visual appeal.

Crafted using high-quality materials, this rug is made with wool on cotton content, ensuring a blend of softness and durability. Measuring at 2'6" x 11'1", this rug is designed to effortlessly enhance any space with its intricate patterns and rich colors.

The weavers of this rug belong to the Esari subtribe, known for their exceptional craftsmanship. The wool used in the production process is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan. This region's mountainous terrain provides optimal conditions for the growth of longer staple, oily wool, ideal for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to Herat, where it is carefully hand-carded and spun into carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms in their homes, the weavers employ an asymmetrical "Persian" knot technique to create these stunning rugs. The warp and weft are made of cotton, while the pile comprises wool, resulting in a textile that is both resilient and luxurious. The double wefting technique ensures a densely woven structure, contributing to its durability.

To achieve its captivating shades of blue, natural indigo dye stuffs are utilized. Derived from the leaves of the indigo plant, this dye has been used for thousands of years and is renowned for producing vibrant blue hues. The centuries-old tradition of using all-natural dye stuffs adds an element of authenticity to this remarkable rug.

With a remarkable knot density of 80 knots per square inch, our rug showcases the meticulous attention to detail invested by the weavers. We have painstakingly calculated that this rug consists of a staggering 315,338 individually hand-tied knots.

Immerse yourself in the enchanting beauty and cultural heritage of this Afghan masterpiece. Experience the charm and craftsmanship of this distinct Bakshaish Willow tribal rug, a testament to the skill and artistry of its makers.
