Introducing the exquisite Afghani rug with a timeless design known as Bakshaish Willow. This rug showcases the tribal style, which originates from Afghanistan. The background of this rug features a charming denim color, beautifully complemented by a light blue border. The captivating main color is a rich shade of blue, adding depth and character to the overall design.

Crafted with meticulous attention to detail, this rug is made using high-quality materials. The content consists of wool on a cotton base, ensuring durability and longevity. Measuring at an impressive 10'0" x 13'10", this rug is sure to make a statement in any space.

The origins of this rug can be traced back to the renowned Ethnic Turkmen Weavers, particularly from the Esari Subtribe. The weavers source the wool from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan. The mountainous terrain of this region naturally provides longer staple, oily wool, which is essential in creating carpets of exceptional quality. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to Herat, where it undergoes hand carding and hand spinning to transform it into carpet yarn, ready for weaving.

The weaving process takes place on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, following a cottage industry-type production. The rugs are woven using an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, resulting in a distinctive and intricate pattern. The cotton warp and weft, combined with the all-wool pile, ensure a robust and long-lasting construction. This rug is double wefted and features a heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique, making it one of the most durable handwoven carpets available.

An extraordinary feature of this rug is its use of centuries-old all-natural dye stuffs. The beautiful blue color showcased in this rug is derived from natural indigo dye stuffs. Indigo, sourced from the leaves of the indigo plant, has been used for thousands of years by various cultures around the world to create vibrant blue hues. This ancient dye adds a touch of history and authenticity to this remarkable rug.

The dense weaving of this rug is evident in its knots per square inch (KPSI) count of 80. Based on this KPSI, we have calculated that this rug boasts an impressive total of 1,574,321 individually hand-tied knots. Each knot represents the skill and craftsmanship poured into creating this exceptional piece.

Experience the allure and beauty of this Afghani Bakshaish Willow rug, crafted with utmost precision and care. Its tribal design, exquisite color palette, and remarkable construction make it a valuable addition to any rug collection.
