Introducing our exquisite rug from Afghanistan, showcasing a stunning diamond trellis design that embodies transitional style. The background color of this rug is a captivating shade of moss, beautifully complemented by a camel border. Crafted using the finest materials, this rug is made of wool on cotton, ensuring both comfort and durability.

Sourcing the wool directly from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain that produces longer staple, high-quality wool. The raw Ghazni wool is then brought to the western side of Afghanistan around Herat, where it is hand carted and hand-spun into carpet yarn, meticulously prepared for weaving.

This rug is skillfully woven by ethnic Turkmen weavers, particularly from the Esari subtribe. Utilizing traditional floor looms, these carpets are meticulously crafted in the weavers' homes, showcasing the pride and expertise of cottage industry production.

Featuring an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft, this rug showcases the most durable handwoven craftsmanship. Utilizing all-natural dye stuffs, centuries-old techniques are employed to achieve the vibrant and rich shades present in this rug.

Mostly woven in the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi, this rug demonstrates the exceptional skills of highly skilled weavers known for their ability to achieve a higher knot count. Each individual knot is crafted using hand-spun single ply pern knot yarn, demonstrating the utmost attention to detail and artistry.

With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 104, our calculations estimate that this rug possesses a staggering 783,690 individually hand-tied knots in total. This showcases the intricate and meticulous workmanship poured into each aspect of this masterpiece.

Measuring at 6'1" x 8'8", this rug presents an ideal size for adding a touch of elegance and charm to any space. Whether placed in a living room, bedroom, or study, this rug is sure to captivate with its timeless design and impeccable craftsmanship.

Experience the allure of this exquisite Afghan rug, carefully handcrafted by skilled artisans and imbued with the rich history and heritage of the region.
