Introducing our exquisite rug from Afghanistan, specifically from the ethnic Turkmen weavers, mostly belonging to the Esari Subtribe. The design of this rug is the erased mamluk, a transitional style rug that beautifully combines traditional and contemporary elements.

The background color is a serene celadon, providing a calming base for the intricate design. The border is adorned with a rich and luxurious gold, adding a touch of opulence to the overall appearance. The main color of the rug is a lush green, creating a refreshing and vibrant ambiance.

Crafted from high-quality materials, this new rug features a content of wool on cotton. The wool used in this rug comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain that naturally yields long staple oily wool, perfect for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes hand carding and spinning to create carpet yarn.

The rug is meticulously woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, showcasing the cottage industry production style. The weaving technique employed is the asymmetrical "Persian" knot, ensuring the durability and longevity of the rug. The warp and weft are made of cotton, while the pile is crafted from wool, resulting in a harmonious combination.

To achieve the stunning colors of this rug, centuries-old all-natural dye stuffs are utilized, adding depth and character to the design. This rug is a testament to the masterful artistry and craftsmanship of the Afghan weavers.

Measuring at 9'0" x 11'7", this rug offers a spacious and impactful presence in any room. With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 162, we have calculated that this rug has an impressive 2,421,288 individually hand-tied knots in total. This attention to detail and intricacy showcases the dedication and skill of the weavers.

Experience the beauty and cultural heritage of this Afghan rug in your own space. Its timeless design and exceptional quality make it a remarkable addition to any collection or interior.
