Introducing the exquisite Afghani Heriz Tribal Rug, a true work of art sourced from the rich heritage of Afghanistan.

This rug showcases the vibrant craftsmanship of the ethnic Turkmen weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe. The Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, with its mountainous terrain, ensures the production of high-quality wool, which is obtained from sheep native to the region.

To create this rug, the raw Ghazni wool is transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat. Here, it undergoes meticulous hand-carding and hand-spinning into carpet yarn, ready for weaving. The weaving takes place in the weavers' homes, using traditional floor looms in a cottage industry setting.

The design of this rug features the characteristic Heriz tribal style, known for its bold geometric patterns and lively colors. The background is a captivating shade of black, contrasting impeccably with the sage border.

Crafted with precision, this rug is made using the asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, ensuring durability and longevity. The pile is made entirely of wool, while the warp and weft consist of cotton. The double-wefted, heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique further adds to the rug's robustness.

A testament to its authenticity, this magnificent rug is dyed using centuries-old, all-natural dye substances. The result is a captivating color palette with rich, enduring hues.

Measuring a grand size of 12'3" x 14'8", this rug commands attention with its impressive presence. With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80, we have meticulously calculated that this rug boasts an impressive 2,044,731 individually hand-tied knots in total.

Revel in the beauty of this Afghani Heriz Tribal Rug, an exquisite masterpiece that embraces tradition, artistry, and enduring quality.
