Introducing our exquisite Afghani Karaja tribal rug, boasting a captivating design and rich cultural heritage. Originating from Afghanistan, this rug showcases the expert craftsmanship of ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe.

Crafted with meticulous care, this rug features a pile made of 100% wool sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan. The presence of mountainous terrain in this region allows for the growth of longer staple, oily wool, perfect for high-quality carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to Herat, where it undergoes the traditional processes of hand carding and hand spinning, transforming it into carpet yarn.

Using century-old techniques, this rug is woven on traditional floor looms by skilled artisans in their own homes, contributing to the cottage industry. The asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, along with the cotton warp and weft, ensures durability and longevity. The double wefted, heavily packed, depressed warp weaving technique further enhances its robustness, making it one of the most durable handwoven carpets available today.

As a testament to its authenticity, this rug is dyed with all-natural dye stuffs, using the centuries-old tradition of natural indigo. Harvested from the leaves of the indigo plant (indigofera tinctoria), natural indigo dyes have been employed by various cultures for thousands of years to produce vibrant blue hues. Measuring 5'10" x 17'7", this new rug features a dense knot count of 80 knots per square inch. Through meticulous calculation, we have determined that it comprises a grand total of 1,167,299 individually hand-tied knots. At Landry & Arcari, we hope to help you find the perfect rug for your home, which is why we give you a chance to view any handmade rug in your home for three days. If you decide the rug is not for you, you may return it within three days for a refund, less return shipping charges. The following conditions apply: 

• The three-day return period begins upon delivery of the rug to the shipping address you provided.   

• Returns after three days are considered exchanges and are valid for a merchandise credit only.  

• Exchanges are up to 30 Days. After 30 days, your sale is final.  

• All Customers are responsible for return shipping and insurance charges. Customers outside the Continental US will also be responsible for any local duty and vat charges.   

• The item must be unused and in the same condition as received to be eligible for a refund or exchange. 

• Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you of your return approval or rejection. If approved, we will include a copy of your refund.   

• To return your rug, you will need to properly wrap and secure it in the original wrapping. If you require new wrapping, don't hesitate to contact us. 

• THIS POLICY DOES NOT APPLY to custom ordered rugs, carpet and carpet area rugs, custom rug fabrication and alterations of any kind, rug & carpeting pads, wholesale, or trade accounts.

Each carpet area rug is made-to-order, which is why all carpet sales are final. However, once you place your order, we will contact you via email or phone to confirm the exact dimensions, carpet product, and color before processing your final order. This policy applies to carpet rolls as well.
