This Persian Karaja tribal-style rug originates from Iran and features a traditional and symmetrical design. The background is primarily ivory, complemented by a red border that enhances its contrast and visual appeal. Crafted from wool on a cotton foundation, this rug showcases the durable and high-quality weaving techniques typical of Karaja rugs.

Karaja rugs are known for their intricate and durable weaving techniques, characterized by a double weft between rows of knots. This specific method not only contributes to the texture but also ensures the rug's longevity. The design of this rug features geometric shapes and angular lines, which are hallmarks of Karaja and Caucasian weaving traditions. The central medallion style is repeated throughout the rug with smaller medallion-like designs harmoniously intertwined, creating a balanced and aesthetically pleasing appearance.

The primary colors of this rug include muted tones of beige and light blue, with the ivory background serving as a neutral backdrop. The patterns and motifs are highlighted in various shades of blue, giving the rug a subtle yet elegant look that can complement a variety of decor styles. The red border frames the central area and includes a complementary pattern of smaller geometric and floral designs that mirror the central motifs, providing a cohesive and harmonious look.

The design is highly symmetrical, with the patterns evenly distributed and mirrored along both the vertical and horizontal axes. This symmetry contributes to the rug’s classic and balanced aesthetic. The pattern density is moderate, with intricate details spaced evenly across the rug. There is a balance between the detailed sections and the more open, less densely decorated areas, ensuring a visually appealing and coherent design.

The combination of traditional tribal motifs and the use of high-quality materials makes this Persian Karaja rug a notable example of the region's craftsmanship.

Last fall, my husband and I purchased a gorgeous silk from you for our Boston Condo. Based on the quality of your rugs and customer service, we decided to visit you again to purchase rugs for our Connecticut home. Luckily, we received your postcard about the tent sale and came home with two more stunning rugs.

I can't say enough good things about this store, especially Susanne and Breanna. I shop at many rug places as I am an interior designer looking for very specific rugs all the time. No one out there compares to this store and their wonderful Sales associates. Thank you Susanne and Breanna for all your help!

Susan

Over the past year we purchased three rugs, as well as carpet from L&A. Our experience could not have been more positive and we love what we purchased.

In addition, every single person
in the showroom was beyond helpful, knowledgeable and kind. It was truly a pleasure. Thank you!
