Introducing our beautiful rug from Afghanistan, featuring a stunning design known as Kurd, showcasing its tribal style. The background of this rug is an enchanting shade of blue, complemented by a vibrant green border. Its main color is blue, creating a captivating visual appeal.

Crafted with utmost care and attention to detail, this rug is made from premium quality materials. The content consists of wool on cotton, ensuring a luxurious and comfortable feel underfoot. Measuring at 8 '0 " X 9 '6 ", this rug is the perfect size to adorn any room with elegance and charm.

Originating in Afghanistan, this rug was predominantly woven by the skilled weavers from the Esari Subtribe, utilizing the wool sourced from the Ghazni Province. This region's mountainous terrain contributes to the production of longer staple, oily, high-quality wool, ideal for carpet weaving. The wool is then hand carted and hand spun into carpet yarn in the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat.

Woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, this rug showcases the artistry and craftsmanship of the Afghan people. The asymmetrical "Persian" knot type adds to its unique aesthetic appeal. The warp and weft are made of cotton, providing a solid foundation for the all-wool pile. Its double wefted, heavily packed and depressed warp weaving ensures exceptional durability, making it one of the most resilient handwoven carpets available.

Each thread of this rug has been infused with centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs, resulting in a mesmerizing color palette. The captivating blue hues are achieved through the use of natural indigo dye, derived from the leaves of the indigo plant (indigofera tinctoria). Renowned for its vibrant shades, natural indigo dye has been used by various cultures around the world for thousands of years.

Delving into the meticulous details, this rug boasts an impressive knot count of 104 knots per square inch. Our calculations estimate a grand total of 1,129,705 individually hand-tied knots, a testament to the time and skill invested in its creation.

Embodying the rich heritage and artistic traditions of Afghanistan, this exquisite rug is truly a masterpiece. Its allure lies in its impeccable craftsmanship, vibrant colors, and unique design. Add a touch of Afghan culture and beauty to your home with this exceptional rug.
