Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug, featuring a captivating landscape gabbeh design. This tribal-style rug boasts a navy background, adorned with an ivory border that perfectly complements the overall aesthetic. Crafted with utmost care and precision, this rug showcases the finest craftsmanship from ethnic Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe.

The wool used in this rug is sourced from sheep residing in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan. Thanks to the mountainous terrain of this region, the wool possesses longer staple length and a higher quality, making it ideal for carpet weaving. After being collected, the raw Ghazni wool is transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes hand carding and hand spinning to create the yarn necessary for crafting the rug.

Each rug is meticulously woven on traditional floor looms situated in the weavers' own homes, embracing a cottage industry type of production. The weavers employ an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, creating a truly unique and authentic piece of art. The warp and weft are made of cotton, while the pile consists entirely of wool.

Durable and long-lasting, this rug boasts double wefting and a heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique, ensuring its ability to withstand the test of time. Adding to its allure, the rug is dyed using centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs, resulting in a harmonious blend of rich colors.

Woven primarily in the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi, renowned for its skilled weavers and high knot count weaving, this rug showcases the utmost dedication and expertise of its creators. The yarn used in this rug is hand-spun, single-ply pern knot yarn, further enhancing its authenticity and uniqueness.

The captivating blue color seen in this rug is thanks to the use of natural indigo dye stuffs. Derived from the leaves of the indigo plant, natural indigo dyes have been utilized by humans for thousands of years. This timeless dye is known for producing vibrant blue hues, adorning various cultures around the world.

With a knots per square inch count of 104, our meticulously crafted rug encompasses a grand total of 832,622 individually hand-tied knots. This level of intricate detail showcases the unparalleled skill of the weavers behind this masterpiece.

In summary, this Afghani rug with a landscape gabbeh design embodies the essence of tribal artistry. Its navy background and ivory border enhance the visual appeal, while the use of high-quality wool and natural dyes adds authenticity and durability. With an incredible level of detail reflected in each knot, this rug is a testament to the rich tradition and craftsmanship of Afghan rug weaving.
