Introducing our exquisite Afghani rug, this stunning piece of artistry features a large Harshang design with tribal influences. Its background is elegantly adorned with a deep black color, while a sage border enhances its overall charm. Crafted using traditional techniques by ethnic Turkmen weavers, mostly from the Esari Subtribe, this rug is a testament to their remarkable skill.

To ensure the highest quality, the wool used in this rug comes from sheep in the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan. The region's mountainous terrain naturally produces longer staple, oily wool, ideal for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it is hand-carded and hand-spun into carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms in their own homes, these talented weavers create this rug using an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type. The warp and weft of the rug are made from cotton, while the pile consists of wool. Incredibly durable, this rug is double-wefted with heavily packed and depressed warp weaving, ensuring its longevity.

One of the remarkable qualities of this rug lies in its centuries-old all-natural dye sources, showcasing the artistry and knowledge passed down through generations. The result is a withstanding beauty that resonates for years to come.

Additionally, the majority of these rugs are woven in Aqucha and Mazar Sharif, utilizing a 2-ply yarn per knot technique. Our rug boasts 80 knots per square inch, and based on our calculations, it encompasses a staggering 906189 individually hand-tied knots.

With its captivating design, structural integrity, and rich history, this Afghani rug is truly a remarkable piece that will elevate any space it graces.
