Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan and showcasing the captivating Mamluk design, this transitional masterpiece is sure to elevate any space. The background of this rug is adorned with a cerulean hue, while the border exudes a deep navy color, creating a harmonious and elegant composition.

Crafted by skilled ethnic Turkmen weavers, mainly from the Esari Subtribe, this rug is made using high-quality wool sourced from the Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan. The mountainous terrain of this region naturally produces longer staple and oily wool, ideal for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then meticulously hand carted and spun into carpet yarn in the western region of Afghanistan, near Herat.

With a dedication to traditional craftsmanship, this rug is woven on floor looms within the weavers' own homes, representing a cherished cottage industry production method. The asymmetrical "Persian" knot technique is employed, resulting in a durable and resilient textile. The warp and weft consist of cotton, while the sumptuous pile is made entirely of wool.

Embracing centuries-old traditions, this rug showcases a stunning array of all-natural dye stuffs, with the color blue derived from the indigo plant. Indigo, historically revered as one of the oldest known dyes, offers a timeless and captivating shade of blue that has been cherished by cultures worldwide.

Measuring 8'10" X 11'7", this rug boasts a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 80. Our meticulous calculation reveals that this piece boasts a remarkable 1,164,455 individually hand-tied knots, showcasing the skill and dedication of the weavers.

Embrace the allure of tradition and elegance with this exceptional rug, a true testament to the mastery and artistry of Afghan craftsmanship.
