Introducing our exquisite Afghan Mamluk Tribal Rug, originating from Afghanistan, this stunning piece boasts a captivating design that is sure to enchant any rug enthusiast. With a stylish background in seafoam and a rust border, this rug exudes a unique charm that is both timeless and captivating.
Handwoven by skilled Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe, this rug showcases their expertise in creating intricate patterns and designs. The wool used in this rug is sourced from sheep in the Ghazni Province of South East Afghanistan, known for its mountainous terrain and high-quality wool. This naturally oily, longer staple wool is perfect for creating durable and luxurious carpets.
The wool is then hand carted and spun into carpet yarn in the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat. These traditional methods ensure the highest level of craftsmanship and quality. The rug is woven on traditional floor looms in the weavers' own homes, reflecting a cottage industry type of production.
With an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and a cotton warp and weft, this rug showcases the traditional methods used in its creation. The heavily packed depressed warp weaving and double wefted construction contribute to its exceptional durability, making it a long-lasting addition to any space.
Adding to its allure, this rug features centuries-old, all-natural dye stuffs that create its vibrant and rich colors. Each color is carefully crafted using natural materials, providing a truly authentic and unique appearance.
Additionally, this rug has a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 162, resulting in an impressive total of 2,490,979 individually hand-tied knots. This attention to detail and meticulous craftsmanship ensure the rug's exceptional quality and intricate design.
Measuring at 9'0" x 11'11", this new Afghan Mamluk Tribal Rug is a testament to the rich heritage and artistry of Afghan rug weaving. Its timeless design, combined with its exceptional craftsmanship, makes it a true treasure for any rug collector or interior enthusiast.
Immerse yourself in the beauty of this Afghan Mamluk Tribal Rug, and experience the artistry of Afghanistan's skilled weavers. This remarkable piece will undoubtedly elevate any space with its mesmerizing design and unparalleled quality.

Don’t take our word for it

Last fall, my husband and I purchased a gorgeous silk from you for our Boston Condo. Based on the quality of your rugs and customer service, we decided to visit you again to purchase rugs for our Connecticut home. Luckily, we received your postcard about the tent sale and came home with two more stunning rugs.

I can't say enough good things about this store, especially Susanne and Breanna. I shop at many rug places as I am an interior designer looking for very specific rugs all the time. No one out there compares to this store and their wonderful Sales associates. Thank you Susanne and Breanna for all your help!

Over the past year we purchased three rugs, as well as carpet from L&A. Our experience could not have been more positive and we love what we purchased.
In addition, every single person
in the showroom was beyond helpful, knowledgeable and kind. It was truly a pleasure. Thank you!

Never have I enjoyed spending money as much as at Landry & Arcari!!! Thank you so much for your attention and guidance. The rug I chose grounds the furniture and makes the living room. It is so beautiful and I really appreciate all of your help.
