Introducing our exquisite rug from Afghanistan, featuring the stunning Mamluk design, known for its intricate patterns and rich cultural heritage. This tribal-style rug showcases a captivating background in aqua, beautifully complemented by a rust border. The main color of this rug is a mesmerizing teal, adding a touch of elegance to any room.

Crafted with utmost care, this rug is made of high-quality materials. The content consists of wool meticulously woven on a cotton foundation, ensuring durability and longevity. The dimensions of this remarkable piece are 5 feet 1 inch in width and 6 feet 6 inches in length, making it a perfect fit for various spaces.

The origin of this rug traces back to Afghanistan, specifically the Ghazni Province in the southeast. The local weavers, primarily from the Esari Subtribe, acquire all-natural wool from sheep in this mountainous region, known for the production of superior-quality wool. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes the meticulous process of hand carding and spinning into carpet yarn.

Using traditional floor looms, skilled artisans weave this rug in their own homes, following centuries-old techniques. The asymmetrical "Persian" knot type, combined with a cotton warp and weft, creates a visually captivating and highly durable rug.

This exceptional rug boasts an impressive knot count of 162 knots per square inch, resulting in a total of approximately 767,415 individually hand-tied knots. The weavers in the Karam Kul district of Andkhoi, renowned for their expertise in achieving a higher knot count, contribute to the remarkable craftsmanship of this piece.

Immerse yourself in the beauty and heritage of this Afghan rug, lovingly crafted by skilled artisans using time-honored techniques. Adorn your living space with this captivating work of art, and indulge in the warmth and elegance it brings to your home.
