Introducing the exquisite antique rug from Afghanistan, specifically designed with the traditional Ningxia pattern. This rug showcases the true artistry and craftsmanship of Afghan Turkmen weavers, predominantly from the Esari Subtribe.

Made from 100% wool sourced from sheep in the mountainous terrain of the Ghazni Province in Southeast Afghanistan, this rug boasts longer staple, oily, and high-quality wool, which is ideal for carpet weaving. The raw Ghazni wool is then transported to the western side of Afghanistan, near Herat, where it undergoes the meticulous process of hand carding and spinning into carpet yarn.

With a size of 8'3" x 9'3", this rug is woven on traditional floor looms by skilled artisans in their own homes, reflecting the rich culture and cottage industry production of the region. The weaving technique used is the asymmetrical "Persian" knot, ensuring the durability and longevity of the rug. Its foundation comprises cotton warp and weft, while the pile is made entirely of wool.

The background of this rug features a refined taupe color, beautifully complemented by a pomegranate border. The predominant main color of the rug is a soothing beige, creating a harmonious and elegant aesthetic.

One of the distinguishing features of this rug is its use of centuries-old all-natural dye stuffs, enhancing its authenticity and uniqueness. The combination of skillful weaving techniques, high-quality materials, and natural dyes makes this rug a true collector's item.

To further showcase the craftsmanship, this rug boasts a knot density of 104 knots per square inch (KPSI). Based on this calculation, our rug is adorned with an impressive 1,134,350 individually hand-tied knots in total, exemplifying the meticulous attention to detail that goes into its creation.

Immerse yourself in the rich history and artistry of Afghanistan with this exceptional antique rug, perfect for adding a touch of elegance and cultural heritage to any space.
