This rug originates from India and features a Nordic design with a transitional style. The background is a slate color, complemented by an ivory border. The main color is grey, and the rug is crafted from wool on a cotton foundation.

This rug has been recently woven, incorporating final washing and multiple finishing processes done in Jaipur. The use of chromium dyes ensures color accuracy, light fastness, and consistency, particularly with the antique finishing techniques applied to give the rug a vintage look. The production involves smaller contractors who distribute designs and pre-dyed, hand-spun wools to villages primarily around Jaipur, with some as far as Bikaner. Weavers, who are paid by the square meter, work mostly from their homes.

The rug features an asymmetrical Persian type knot, a traditional technique used by weavers in Rajasthan for centuries. This knotting lends a ribbed texture to the rug. The wool is a blend of Ghazni wool from Afghanistan and South African wool. The rug’s foundation is double-wefted, with a thick bottom weft of dense cotton and a thinner upper white weft that creates a speckled appearance once the rug is sheared. This shearing technique mirrors how antiques wear down over time, revealing their cotton foundation and giving the rug a lighter overall appearance.

With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 104, this rug contains approximately 1,575,635 individually hand-tied knots. The designs are inspired by antique Persian and Khotanese carpets, featuring both traditional and modern colorations.

This particular rug showcases a repeating geometric pattern that emphasizes symmetry. The primary colors are varying shades of blue and beige, with reddish-brown accents. The geometric motifs consist of repeated cross-like shapes interlocked with smaller diamond shapes. The larger cross-like shapes are predominantly blue, the connecting diamond shapes are beige, and reddish-brown diamonds at the intersections add contrast.

There is no defined border separating the central pattern from the edges, allowing the pattern to extend uniformly to the edges of the rug. The design maintains high symmetry, with both halves mirroring each other. The pattern density is medium, evenly distributing design elements across the rug. There is no central medallion; instead, the design is uniform throughout the rug's surface.
