Introducing our exquisite rug, originating from Afghanistan and boasting a traditional Ottoman design, this transitional style piece is a true gem. The background of the rug features a sophisticated taupe hue, complemented by a delicate light blue border. Its main color, a timeless beige, adds a touch of elegance to any space.

Crafted by skilled Turkmen weavers, most of whom belong to the Esari Subtribe, this rug is meticulously made. The wool used is sourced from sheep in the mountainous Ghazni Province of Southeast Afghanistan, known for its longer staple and higher quality wool. This raw Ghazni wool is then transported to Herat, on the western side of Afghanistan, where it is hand carted and spun into carpet yarn.

Traditional floor looms are employed in the weaving process, which takes place in the homes of the weavers. The rugs are woven with an asymmetrical "Persian" knot type and feature a cotton warp and weft, while the pile consists of high-quality wool. The double wefted heavily packed depressed warp weaving technique ensures exceptional durability, guaranteeing that this handwoven carpet will stand the test of time.

To further enhance its allure, the rug showcases centuries-old all-natural dye stuffs. The captivating blue color is achieved through the use of natural indigo dyes, derived from the leaves of the indigo plant. With a rich history dating back thousands of years, natural indigo dyes have been cherished around the world for their ability to produce vibrant blue hues.

With a knots per square inch (KPSI) of 162, our rug exhibits superb craftsmanship. Calculations based on the KPSI reveal that this exquisite piece boasts a total of 301,940 individually hand-tied knots.

Measuring 2 feet 2 inches by 6 feet, this rug is an ideal addition to any space, infusing it with an air of sophistication and grace.
