The quality of the Soft Melody rug is enhanced by its luxurious blend of imported New Zealand wool (50-75%) and either superior local or South African wool. This blend results in a shinier and more lustrous finish compared to rugs made solely from local wools. The imported New Zealand wool is carefully hand-carded and hand-spun into yarn, supporting the local economy.

What sets these rugs apart is the unique characteristic of the single-ply yarn. Each knot incorporates a single thread, creating a denser and nubbier texture that is visually and tactilely distinctive. The use of asymmetrical Persian-type knots further adds to the rug's appeal.

The Soft Melody rugs are renowned for their 6x6 quality, reflecting the intricate craftsmanship involved. This density contributes to the rug's durability and intricate design clarity.

Constructed with a 100% wool pile and a cotton foundation, these rugs feature tightly spun cotton warps and are mostly double-wefted. With a pile height of approximately 3/8 inch, the handspun yarn ensures subtle color variations, enriching each rug with a unique aesthetic achieved through artisanal dyeing techniques.

To ensure long-lasting vibrancy, Soft Melody rugs are dyed using high-quality chromium (chrome) dyes that resist fading and maintain their vibrant hues over time. These dyes, primarily imported from Switzerland, combine international expertise with local resources.

Soft Melody Oushak rugs are particularly sought after for their resemblance to traditional 19th-century Turkish Oushaks, thanks to their comparably large knots. The use of single-ply thick yarn contributes to their unique and delightful nubby texture, noticeable at the base of each knot.

At Landry & Arcari, we hope to help you find the perfect rug for your home, which is why we give you a chance to view any handmade rug in your home for three days. If you decide the rug is not for you, you may return it within three days for a refund, less return shipping charges. The following conditions apply: 

• The three-day return period begins upon delivery of the rug to the shipping address you provided.   

• Returns after three days are considered exchanges and are valid for a merchandise credit only.  

• Exchanges are up to 30 Days. After 30 days, your sale is final.  

• All Customers are responsible for return shipping and insurance charges. Customers outside the Continental US will also be responsible for any local duty and vat charges.   

• The item must be unused and in the same condition as received to be eligible for a refund or exchange. 

• Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you of your return approval or rejection. If approved, we will include a copy of your refund.   

• To return your rug, you will need to properly wrap and secure it in the original wrapping. If you require new wrapping, don't hesitate to contact us. 

• THIS POLICY DOES NOT APPLY to custom ordered rugs, carpet and carpet area rugs, custom rug fabrication and alterations of any kind, rug & carpeting pads, wholesale, or trade accounts.

Each carpet area rug is made-to-order, which is why all carpet sales are final. However, once you place your order, we will contact you via email or phone to confirm the exact dimensions, carpet product, and color before processing your final order. This policy applies to carpet rolls as well.
