Introducing the "Soft Melody" collection in rug quality, which showcases a distinct combination of tradition, craftsmanship, and innovation. These rugs originate from the region in and around Agra, India, where skilled artisans hand-weave them in their homes using techniques honed over centuries.
One of the defining features of the Soft Melody rug is its luxurious material. It is crafted using a blend of imported, long-staple New Zealand wool (comprising 50-75% of the blend) and either superior local wool or South African wool. This unique composition results in a shinier and more lustrous finish compared to rugs made solely from local wools. The imported New Zealand wool is meticulously hand-carded and hand-spun into yarn, supporting the local economy.
What sets the Soft Melody rugs apart is the yarn's single-ply characteristic. Unlike the more common two-ply yarns, each knot in these rugs incorporates a single thread, creating a thicker and denser yarn. The use of asymmetrical Persian-type knots further enhances the rug's distinctive texture, with pronounced knots that add to its tactile and visual appeal.
These rugs are renowned for their 6x6 quality, which reflects the intricate craftsmanship involved and contributes to their durability and design clarity. They feature a 100% wool pile and are constructed with cotton foundations, tightly spun cotton warps, and mostly double-wefted construction. The pile height is approximately 3/8 inch. The handspun nature of the yarn results in subtle color variations, giving each rug a unique aesthetic due to artisanal dyeing techniques.
Another important aspect of these rugs is their coloration. The use of chromium dyes ensures resistance to fading and light-fastness, allowing the rugs to maintain their vibrant hues over time. These high-quality chromium dyes, primarily imported from Switzerland, are applied to the wool in India, combining international and local resources.

3 Day Money Back Guarantee and Return Policy for Handwoven Rugs
At Landry & Arcari, we hope to help you find the perfect rug for your home, which is why we give you a chance to view any handmade rug in your home for three days. If you decide the rug is not for you, you may return it within three days for a refund, less return shipping charges. The following conditions apply:
- The three-day return period begins upon delivery of the rug to the shipping address you provided.
- Returns after three days are considered exchanges and are valid for a merchandise credit only.
- Exchanges are up to 30 Days. After 30 days, your sale is final.
- All Customers are responsible for return shipping and insurance charges. Customers outside the Continental US will also be responsible for any local duty and vat charges.
- The item must be unused and in the same condition as received to be eligible for a refund or exchange.
- Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you of your return approval or rejection. If approved, we will include a copy of your refund.
- To return your rug, you will need to properly wrap and secure it in the original wrapping. If you require new wrapping, don't hesitate to contact us.
- THIS POLICY DOES NOT APPLY to custom ordered rugs, carpet and carpet area rugs, custom rug fabrication and alterations of any kind, rug & carpeting pads, wholesale, or trade accounts.

All carpet sales are final (after we review your order)
Each carpet area rug is made-to-order, which is why all carpet sales are final. However, once you place your order, we will contact you via email or phone to confirm the exact dimensions, carpet product, and color before processing your final order. This policy applies to carpet rolls as well.
