This antique Persian rug features a traditional Sarouk design, dating back to approximately 1920. The Sarouk style is renowned for its intricate floral motifs, rich curvilinear vine scrolls, and elaborate arabesques, all of which reflect the artistic heritage of Persian carpet weaving.

The rug's central field is dominated by a deep, rich navy blue background, against which a densely packed floral and botanical pattern unfolds. Large central floral motifs are encircled by smaller blossoms, leaves, and vine-like structures, all rendered in a palette of red, beige, yellow, and green hues. This complex design is emblematic of the Sarouk style, which often features both medallion-and-corner layouts as well as allover patterns.

Surrounding the central field, the rug is encased by multiple borders that enhance its ornate appearance. The main border is amber in color and broad, adorned with repeating large floral motifs and detailed leaves and palmettes in shades of red, beige, and blue. Secondary border lines include thin strips of white or light beige, framing the interior field and adding an additional layer of decorative intricacy. An ornate vine-like pattern within the outer border further contributes to the rug's decorative complexity.

Constructed from high-quality wool on a cotton foundation, the rug boasts a thick, luxurious pile that enhances its durability and imparts a soft, velvety texture. This material choice is typical of Sarouk carpets, known for their robustness and tactile appeal.

The overall design is symmetrical both horizontally and vertically, ensuring a balanced and harmonious aesthetic. This symmetry, combined with the rich color palette and detailed motifs, showcases the skill and craftsmanship inherent in Sarouk rug production, cementing its status within Persian cultural heritage.

Last fall, my husband and I purchased a gorgeous silk from you for our Boston Condo. Based on the quality of your rugs and customer service, we decided to visit you again to purchase rugs for our Connecticut home. Luckily, we received your postcard about the tent sale and came home with two more stunning rugs.

I can't say enough good things about this store, especially Susanne and Breanna. I shop at many rug places as I am an interior designer looking for very specific rugs all the time. No one out there compares to this store and their wonderful Sales associates. Thank you Susanne and Breanna for all your help!

Over the past year we purchased three rugs, as well as carpet from L&A. Our experience could not have been more positive and we love what we purchased.

In addition, every single person
in the showroom was beyond helpful, knowledgeable and kind. It was truly a pleasure. Thank you!

Never have I enjoyed spending money as much as at Landry & Arcari!!! Thank you so much for your attention and guidance. The rug I chose grounds the furniture and makes the living room. It is so beautiful and I really appreciate all of your help.
