Originating from India, this rug features a Serapi design, categorizing it as a transitional style piece. The background of the rug is a soft peach color, complemented by a chartreuse border. The main color scheme includes beige tones, creating a harmonious and elegant overall look. Crafted from wool on cotton, this rug showcases a high level of craftsmanship and quality.

The production process of this rug involves meticulous attention to detail. Following the weaving stage, the final washing and finishing processes take place in Jaipur, ensuring a high standard of quality. Chromium dyes are predominantly used for these rugs, offering color accuracy, light fastness, and consistency, especially during custom orders. The knotting density of this rug is approximately 40 knots per square inch, with variations possible due to the cottage industry nature of production.

Most of these rugs are woven by smaller contractors who distribute designs and materials to villages outside Jaipur, with some villages located as far as Bikaner to the west. Weavers are contracted based on square meter measurements and often work from their homes, while larger rugs requiring looms wider than 10 feet are usually contracted to villages with stationary horizontal looms. The asymmetrical Persian knotting technique, traditionally used in Rajasthan rugs, contributes to the unique construction and finishing of this collection, resulting in a vintage, weathered look.

The wool used in this rug is a blend of Ghazni wool imported from Afghanistan and South African wool, combining quality materials for durability and aesthetic appeal. The double-wefted foundation consists of a thick bottom weft with multiple dense cotton plys, paired with a finer upper weft to create texture and visual interest. The designs draw inspiration from antique Persian and Khotanese carpets, blending traditional and modern color palettes seamlessly.

Visually, this rug boasts intricate patterns and elegant design elements. The central medallion, surrounded by floral and geometric motifs, serves as the focal point of the rug. With a color palette dominated by beige, peach, and sandy brown hues, accentuated by hints of muted greens, pinks, and yellows, the rug offers a balanced and subtle aesthetic. Symmetrical borders and a moderate density of pattern contribute to its overall harmonious appearance, making it a sophisticated addition to any space.
