This rug originates from India and features a Tabriz design within a transitional style. The background color is blonde, and the border is silver, while the main color is a muted yellow. The rug is constructed with wool on a cotton foundation, employing traditional weaving techniques.

This rug has been recently woven and underwent final washing and multiple finishing processes in Jaipur. The production utilizes chromium dyes, known for their color accuracy, light fastness, and consistency, which are especially suited for custom orders and the extra antique finishing these rugs receive.

The weaving of these rugs is typically done by smaller contractors who distribute pre-dyed and hand-spun wools to various villages, primarily outside Jaipur, extending as far as Bikaner to the west. Weavers, contracted and paid by the square meter, often work in their homes. Larger rugs, those wider than 10 feet, are usually produced using stationary horizontal looms in certain villages.

Rajasthan rugs are characterized by their asymmetrical Persian knots, a technique that has been practiced by weavers in this region for centuries. This knotting method contributes to the ribbed texture and unique appearance of the rug, enhancing its vintage, worn look. The wool used in these rugs is a blend of Ghazni wool from Afghanistan and South African wool.

The double-wefted, heavily packed foundation features a bottom weft with upwards of 10 plies of dense cotton, and a thinner upper weft. The upper weft, which is pure white, is woven loosely through the warps, creating a distinctive visual effect once the rug is sheared. This technique mimics the appearance of antique rugs, showing speckles of white weft that add depth and texture, giving the rug a lighter overall appearance.

The designs of these rugs are inspired by antique Persian and Khotanese carpets, with a mixture of traditional and modern colorations. The specific rug has 104 knots per square inch, totaling approximately 1,623,755 individually hand-tied knots.

Visually, this rug exhibits a soft, muted appearance with a distressed or weathered look, imparting a vintage feel. The intricate, repeating floral and foliate pattern throughout the rug includes motifs of leaves, vines, and symmetrical floral elements. The primary colors range from shades of beige and light gray to hints of muted gold or yellow, blending together to enhance the aged look.

The rug features a thin border that encloses the central pattern, which is a simplified version of the main design, providing continuity but in a more contained form. The high degree of symmetry, both horizontal and vertical, is typical of traditional rug designs. The pattern is dense, with very few open spaces, contributing to the textured and detailed appearance. This particular rug does not have a distinct central medallion; instead, the pattern is evenly distributed across the entire surface.
