This Indian rug features a Tabriz design rooted in transitional style, characterized by a fusion of traditional and contemporary motifs. Made from a blend of wool on a cotton foundation, the rug showcases a main color of blue with a medium blue background and detailed jade border.

The rug is constructed using an asymmetrical Persian-type knot, a technique that has been utilized by Rajasthani weavers for centuries, contributing to the rug's ribbed texture. Notably, the wool used combines fibers from Ghazni, imported from Afghanistan, with South African wool, enhancing the rug's texture and durability. The construction involves a double weft foundation, where the bottom weft consists of up to 10 plys of dense cotton, while the upper weft features a thinner pure white cotton. This design technique allows for slight visibility of the white yarn through the wool, mimicking the natural wear and revealed foundation seen in antique rugs.

The rug's design includes intricate floral and botanical motifs, arranged symmetrically and linked through curvilinear patterns that create a dense, continuous visual narrative across the rug's surface. The absence of a prominent central medallion gives way to a fluid distribution of design elements, enhancing the rug's uniformity and aesthetic balance.

The finishing process, completed in Jaipur, includes multiple washings and an additional antique treatment using chromium dyes. These dyes are selected for their color accuracy and consistency, which is especially beneficial for custom orders and the preservation of the rug's vibrant hues under various lighting conditions.

Spanning a total area with 836,130 individually hand-tied knots, the rug's knot density stands at 104 knots per square inch, which underscores the craftsmanship and intricate detailing involved in its creation.

The colors and patterns are inspired by antique Persian and Khotanese carpets, blending traditional designs with modern color schemes to appeal to contemporary tastes while respecting the craft's historical roots. Each rug, woven predominantly in the homes of contracted weavers in and around Jaipur and even as far afield as Bikaner, represents a piece of the rich tapestry of Indian craftsmanship.
