Originating in and around the city of Agra, India, the Soft Melody collection embraces the traditional craftsmanship and innovative techniques of local artisans. Handwoven in the homes of these skilled artisans, these rugs showcase centuries-old practices that have been refined over time.

The quality of the Soft Melody rug lies in its materials. A luxurious blend of imported, long-staple New Zealand wool (comprising 50-75% of the blend) and either superior local wool or South African wool is used. This unique composition results in a shinier and more lustrous finish compared to rugs made solely from local wools. The imported New Zealand wool is hand-carded and hand-spun into yarn, supporting the local economy and ensuring sustainability.

What sets these rugs apart is their single-ply characteristic. Each knot of a Soft Melody rug incorporates a single thread, resulting in a thicker and denser yarn. This, combined with the use of an asymmetrical Persian-type knot, creates a nubby texture with pronounced knots, enhancing the rug's tactile and visual appeal.

The Soft Melody rugs are renowned for their 6x6 quality, which reflects the intricate craftsmanship involved in their creation. This density contributes to the rug's robustness and design clarity.

Constructed with a 100% wool pile and a cotton foundation, these rugs feature tightly spun cotton warps and are mostly double-wefted. With a pile height of approximately 3/8 inch, the hand-spun yarn ensures subtle color variations, giving each rug a unique aesthetic.

The coloration of these rugs is achieved using chromium (or chrome) dyes, which resist fading and maintain their vibrant hues over time. Unlike rugs using inferior synthetic dyes, the Soft Melody rugs utilize high-quality chromium dyes primarily imported from Switzerland.

3 Day Money Back Guarantee and Return Policy for Handwoven Rugs

At Landry & Arcari, we hope to help you find the perfect rug for your home, which is why we give you a chance to view any handmade rug in your home for three days. If you decide the rug is not for you, you may return it within three days for a refund, less return shipping charges. The following conditions apply: 

• The three-day return period begins upon delivery of the rug to the shipping address you provided.   

• Returns after three days are considered exchanges and are valid for a merchandise credit only.  

• Exchanges are up to 30 Days. After 30 days, your sale is final.  

• All Customers are responsible for return shipping and insurance charges. Customers outside the Continental US will also be responsible for any local duty and vat charges.   

• The item must be unused and in the same condition as received to be eligible for a refund or exchange. 

• Once your return is received and inspected, we will send you an email to notify you of your return approval or rejection. If approved, we will include a copy of your refund.   

• To return your rug, you will need to properly wrap and secure it in the original wrapping. If you require new wrapping, don't hesitate to contact us. 

• THIS POLICY DOES NOT APPLY to custom ordered rugs, carpet and carpet area rugs, custom rug fabrication and alterations of any kind, rug & carpeting pads, wholesale, or trade accounts.

Each carpet area rug is made-to-order, which is why all carpet sales are final. However, once you place your order, we will contact you via email or phone to confirm the exact dimensions, carpet product, and color before processing your final order. This policy applies to carpet rolls as well.
